About Theos Wish Charity Organization:

Theo’s Wish came to life from the reality that set in for Mike, the founder of Theo’s Wish.  Mike is a United States Marine Corps Veteran.  Mike being a Disabled Veteran who like many others has his own struggles mentally.  He had found hope in his dog Theo who provided the spark he needed to keep trying to ensure Theo can live his best life.  When times were bad and Mike would be in a poor mental state, it was always Theo that kept him going.  However, in 2020 the bond Mike had formed with his yellow lab Theodore would be put to the test and sparked the idea for Theo’s Wish.

In 2020 Theo was not doing well, he was not responding to Mike coming home, refused to eat, and had even stopped drinking.  Fearing the worst Mike rushed him to the Veterinarian ER to have Theo examined.  After the initial scans the Vet had told Mike Theo needed immediate surgery.  There seemed to be a blockage within Theo’s GI tract.  Mike had agreed to allow the surgery, which was then performed to figure out what was causing the issues and then to remove the foreign matter.  This surgery alone had completely drained Mike of his savings, but he needed to do what he could for his best friend.

Upon completion of the surgery, the Vet had informed Mike that Theo was not out of the woods just yet.  They had discovered a growth within his abdomen which would require further medical procedures costing thousands of dollars more.  This was the limit for Mike, he had no way to pay for his best friends’ further treatment.  He was heartbroken since Theo had always been by his side whenever he needed him.  Now Theo was not going to receive the care he needed because Mike had failed him.  This was what broke the camel’s back as they say.  Not having any idea how he was going to save his best friend it sent Mike into a deep state of depression and anxiety.  This amplified the issues he already had and drove Mike down to new lows.

Mike, refusing to give up on his best friend frantically started to find ways to raise the money so his dog could receive the care he needed.  Using other websites to try and raise funds, reaching out to friends, family, coworkers, and even strangers, Mike was determined to make this work.  Luckily, he was able to raise just enough money in time to ensure Theo would survive.  Devastated from this experience mentally, Mike decided from that day on he would find a way to pay it forward for other Disabled Vets and their service animals.  This is where Theo’s Wish was born.  The idea that Mike could form a nonprofit to raise money for other veterans, in the same shoes as Mike, just a few years ago became his life goal.
